![]() If you are convinced however, and are really serious about purchasing, send me a PM first. But let me know if you need me to expand on anything. I hope this answers your questions, and doesn't add more. And to top it all off, both X3TC and X3AP have a huge, and developer supported mod scene, allowing for total conversion mods, mild bug fix/tweak mods, and new content, like fire control systems for capital ships, and salvage addons for reclaiming bailed ships for sale or to refit and reuse. Some people liken it to EvE Offline, which is a somewhat apt comparison in a few ways, but I think the X-Universe offers so much more. Personally, I find the X-Universe more open there's more to do, more ships to fly, more stuff to blow up (like training marines and using them to capture capital ships you don't get to play as a marine, you just listen to them as they progress through the ship), and, as you complete the plot missions, cooler toys to play with. X3: Terran Conflict (X3TC) and X3: Albion Prelude (X3AP) are similar to Privateer in some ways, and in some ways very different. Also all of the corporation missions are removed, as well as the Hub (a massive entity that allows you to join distant sectors together), and the personal headquarters, but Egosoft confirmed they will be adding ways to obtain them in Albion Prelude 2.0 It also removes all of the plot missions, except for the main, war-focused, plot. It also offers several bug fixes and game mechanic improvements (jump beacons, bigger sector and universe maps, ability to find sectors by name) over Terran Conflict. It also adds 30 more ships on top of Terran Conflict. It adds a war mechanic between two of the major races, allowing yourself to align with one or the other, or another race completely. There are also several plot missions, some harder than others, but each with some pretty spectacular rewards your very own sector, your very own Personal Headquarters, where you can reverse engineer, build, and repair your ships You make money escorting convoys, defending stations, assassinations, capturing and returning lost or stolen ships, building stations for NPCs, delivering wares to NPC stations, and working for corporations, that have their own unique rewards. You can make money by paying a pilot to do all that for you. You can make money with a transport ship flying from station to station, sector to sector, buying and selling wares. There's also lots of enemies to fight, that everyone hates, and a few enemies to make friends with. There are several races to make nice (or not) with, each with their own unique ship designs, and philosophy for ship design (some races favor speed over shielding, others favor the "glass cannon" philosophy). You can also build stations to sell wares, turn them into complexes to produce weaponry and missiles (and others) to fuel your war machine, or trade and fuel your allies war machine. In X3, you can trade, and you can fight, from snub fighters all the way up to huge capital ships. And a plot line (it's been a while since I've played.) And your money pretty much came from doing one or both of those. ![]() It's very similar to Privateer in some ways, and so not like Privateer in other ways.
